What to wear?
Wearing the right clothing for your class is an important part of feeling comfortable, confident and safe at House of Classique.
Different disciplines require different types of clothing to allow you to move freely, use the equipment safely and get the most out of your session. Please read the guidance below before attending your class.
Not Sure What to Wear?
If you're attending a class for the first time and aren't sure what to wear, don't worry!
Our instructors are happy to advise you on suitable clothing and equipment for your particular class.
If you are unsure, please contact House of Classique before your first session rather than arriving in unsuitable clothing.
Our priority is making sure you feel comfortable, confident and safe while you learn, train and have fun.

For all youth and children's classes, our House of Classique uniform is required.
We ask all youth students to wear the appropriate studio uniform to ensure they are dressed safely and suitably for the movement, apparatus and discipline they are participating in.
Uniform also helps instructors clearly see body positioning, technique and alignment, particularly during dance, Pilates, pole and aerial training.
Please ensure hair is tied back where appropriate and that students arrive ready to participate.

Pilates requires comfortable, fitted clothing that allows your instructor to clearly see your posture, alignment and movement.
What to wear:
Grip socks must be worn in reformer pilates these can be brought at our studio. Please bring cash.
Comfortable, fitted leggings, shorts or sportswear.
A fitted T-shirt, vest or sports top.
Clothing should allow you to move freely without being excessively loose.
Hair should be tied back if it may fall into your face during class.
Bring a water bottle.

Grip socks are required for Reformer Pilates.
Grip socks help provide traction and stability on the Reformer and help maintain a hygienic barrier between your feet and the equipment.
If you don't already have a pair, grip socks are available to purchase at the studio, typically from £3–£5.
Please do not attend Reformer Pilates barefoot or in ordinary smooth socks.

For dance classes, clothing should allow you to move freely and enable your instructor to see your technique and body positioning.
What to wear:
Fitted dancewear, leggings, shorts or comfortable sportswear.
A fitted T-shirt, vest or dance top.
Appropriate dance shoes where required for your particular class.
Hair should be tied back where appropriate.
Please bring knee pads and foot thongs
For youth dance classes, the House of Classique uniform is required.
Your instructor may provide additional guidance depending on the dance style, performance requirements or upcoming competitions.

Pole requires clothing that allows your skin to make contact with the pole. This is essential for grip, control and safe execution of many pole movements.
What to wear:
Pole shorts are recommended.
Alternatively, sticky/grip leggings designed specifically for pole may be worn where appropriate.
A fitted sports top, crop top or vest.
Bare legs are required for many pole movements unless suitable sticky leggings are being used.
Please DO NOT wear:
Body oils
Moisturiser or body lotion
Fake tan immediately before class
Oily or greasy products on the skin
Jewellery that could scratch the pole or cause injury
Clean, dry skin is essential for pole.
Please avoid applying moisturiser or oils on the day of your class, as these can make the pole extremely slippery and create a safety risk.

Grip products can be extremely helpful, particularly as you progress through your pole training.
Grip is available to purchase at House of Classique, so please speak to your instructor if you are unsure which type is suitable for you.

Aerial Hoop requires clothing that protects the skin while allowing your instructor to clearly see your positioning and technique.
What to wear:
Fitted leggings or fitted sports trousers are recommended.
A fitted top or leotard.
Clothing should cover areas where the hoop may make contact with the body.
Aerial-specific leggings or a fitted all-in-one are ideal.
Hair should be tied back securely.
Please avoid:
Loose or baggy clothing.
Zips, buckles or exposed metal that could catch on the apparatus.
Large jewellery or accessories.
Clothing with sharp or bulky embellishments.
Aerial Hoop involves contact between the body and the apparatus, so appropriate coverage is important for comfort and safety.

Aerial Silks requires clothing that provides suitable coverage and allows you to move freely without exposing the skin unnecessarily to the fabric.
What to wear:
A fitted all-in-one bodysuit is ideal.
Alternatively, fitted full-length leggings and a fitted top can be worn.
Clothing should cover the backs of the knees, waist and underarms where possible.
Fitted clothing is essential so that fabric does not become caught or twisted.
Hair should be tied back securely.
Please avoid:
Loose or baggy clothing.
Shorts or very short tops.
Zips, buckles, metal fastenings or sharp embellishments.
Jewellery, watches or accessories.
Anything that could snag, damage or become caught in the silks.
An all-in-one bodysuit provides excellent coverage and is particularly recommended for Aerial Silks.

For your safety and to protect our equipment, jewellery should not be worn during Pole, Aerial Hoop or Aerial Silks. This includes: Rings Bracelets Watches Necklaces Large earrings Body jewellery that may come into contact with equipment Jewellery can become caught, cause injury or damage the apparatus. If you have piercings that cannot be removed, please speak to your instructor before participating

For most classes, long hair should be tied back securely.
For Pole and Aerial, please ensure hair is secured in a way that does not interfere with your movement or equipment.
Please arrive clean and ready to participate, particularly for Pole and Aerial classes.
For Pole specifically, please do not apply oils, moisturiser, body lotion or other slippery products before class.

For most classes, we recommend bringing:
Water bottle
Appropriate class clothing
Any required footwear
Towel if needed
Your own personal grip products if you have them (Pole and aerial only)
Please label personal belongings where possible.
